Feeding time for Grackle chicks, 6-8-04OK! June 8, 2004. This is the big one - the one for the books in 2004. The final edit of this day is over an hour long! And the project itself was well attended by both grackle and squirrel alike! This is the last day for the grackles of 2004, probably because right after that there were 2 weeks of constant rain that completely hindered me putting any cameras or projects outside.

Interesting things to mention -
• 1 - The grackles during this day (at least in the morning) go right for the nuts that I’ve taken out of their shell. They don’t go for any of the full-shelled nuts - to the point where the grackle first up to the mat knocks all of the peanuts clean off!
• 2 - Grackle feeding time! I’ve seen it before on earlier projects - I actually discovered a very old project from 1999 a few days ago where a similar thing happened - but this one is directly related to the project; that one isn’t. The older grackle snatches a nut out of the mat and feeds both of it’s chicks with it - very cool!
• 3 - Did I mention the final edit is 1 hour long?! This is the longest project edit of any day I’ve done, period. And “project edit” just means the parts of the day where things happened. That means that hour long edit is from a day’s worth of raw materials! NOTE: Beware those on slow connections! The Low quality version is even 95MBs!
