That makes sense, but you'd think I'd have seen one do this before in 8 years of recording... :) I wonder if the "dry heaving" one had a temperature problem... don't know...

Don't know about the dry heaving - maybe he had a little (burp) gas...

The other clip looks like he's just marking - I don't know if squirrels spray, or if they have glands under their chin...

Hehe... well, we haven't gotten any snow since the last huge storm, and it's been raining here lately, so we're pretty much in the same boat right now... gotta love the squrrels... :) I have some squirrely-stuff I shot yesterday that I'll add on here soon (I've been kind of busy with another project)...

and we still havent seen any snow here................. Denmark has all the snow at the moment and I'm really frustrated. If it wasn't for the squirrels, my sanity would've pooped out a LONG time ago hehe :-)

Great. Don't hold your breath, life is complicated right now and time may not make itself available immediately, but I'll get there.

BTW shouldn't that be "fur in the hole"? :)

This is such a good idea that I have to ask if you'd object to a parallel experiment here? I don't plan to dig a hole in my wife's lawn, but I'm sure I could contrive something similar and see what the results are. But since it is your idea, I won't even consider anything similar unless you're agreeable.

OK - cool... It'll be cool to see, whenever it happens... it's not like the squirrels are going to go on strike or anything ~ :) I like that title! (should have thought of that one...) - I think I'll change it to a mixture of both of them!

Nah! No objections here... That would be cool to see a true "up-shot" of a squirrel - it would probably be easier to get it with a webcam-sized camera, because the smaller size lets it fit further down and get a better shot from that vantage point with less (or no...) digging... I'm still digging and digging meanwhile... my whole setup (with panhead and camera) is a little more than a foot tall, so getting a true "up-shot" with that setup's going to take a hole half-way to China... or at least another foot or two down or so... :)

And just to add insult to injury today, while I was hosting my show, a half-tail squirrel came in (it's the nuts.. it's like crack to a junkie hehehe) and tried to make that it was my co-host. Well, I don't take silent partners as co-host - even if they can squeak if they want to.
So once again, I had to open the back door and let it wander back into the garden in that skulking under a creepnet manner that Mr Furball did just a few weeks back. And again... close by, junior squirrel - who decided to hang around a while - so, I left the show running and filmed the delightful little charmer :-)

I've since hidden the nuts - so that means I'll get 'em all kicking the window in in the mornng - great tits, blue tits and several narked squirrels!

Hehehehe..great weekend indeed... and ice for the birdbaths (although I should rightly call them 'squirrel watering holes') :-D
